MAIS JE SUIS UN ARTISTE
A work of art is the unique result of a unique temperament of an artist who is always alone - if he is an artist. What the artist needs is loneliness because artist belongs to his work, not the work to the artist. I think about my work every minute of the day, and I can never be ahead of my time but most people are far behind theirs.
My imagination can picture no fairer happiness than to continue living for art. You shouldn’t be making art, unless you would die for it!
